1. It started in 18th century Germany. Around 1714.

3. 3 beliefs are that through the Holy Spirit, God could inspire people to speak.They believe in a "peaceful, quiet, brotherly way of life." They believed women belonged in kitchens and gardens.
4. They failed because the Great Depression in the 1930s affected them and their resources. People also thought the rules were too strict.
5. Bleibtreu means to remain faithful which is the name of their village. Amana comes from the Song of Solomon 4:8. Children went to school until they were 14 six-days a week year round.
6. They also had people called 'Elders' who made their rules for them. If they didn't like the rules then they were kicked out like in the Giver they were released. They supplied medicine, food, education, houses, and a job to all the followers like in the Giver.
7. There were seven villages and each of them only had one street. The adult members received credit for what they did.
